This course is a 3.5 to 4 hour walking route where you can fully experience the atmosphere of Kyoto. You can enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the Zen temple, the historic streets, and the beautiful scenery of the four seasons. Especially during the autumn leaves and cherry blossom seasons, the views are spectacular‼️

Depart from Villa Kyoto Saiin. Take bus No. 205 to Nishioji Shijo bus stop. Get off at Shijo Oike. Transfer to the Tozai subway line. Take exit 1 at Keage Station
Take a walk along a quiet mountain road to experience the history of Kyoto. 12-15 minutes walk from Villa Kyoto Saiin to Nishioji Oike Station (Tozai Subway Line)

Nejirimanpo (a short walk away)
A red brick tunnel just outside the station. Built in the Meiji era, it features twisted bricks inside. It is also a popular photo spot.

Keage Incline (3 minutes walk)
The remains of a railway line that was once used for boat transport. In spring, a tunnel of cherry blossoms spreads across the area, creating a photogenic sight.

Nanzenji Temple (Suirokaku, Sanmon Gate, Main Hall) (approx. 10 minutes walk)
A prestigious Zen temple. The brick Suirokaku has a unique atmosphere that blends exoticism with Japanese scenery. If you climb the Sanmon Gate, you will enter the world of Ishikawa Goemon's "Breathtaking View" (fee required).

Eikando Temple (about 5 minutes walk)
This temple is famous for "Mikaeri Amida" (Looking Back Amida). It is especially known as a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves, and is enveloped in breathtaking beauty in the fall.

Philosopher's Path (approx. 5-minute walk)
A beautiful path with cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. It was named after the philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who used to walk along it while lost in thought.

Ginkakuji Temple (a short walk away)
A symbol of Higashiyama culture, filled with the aesthetics of wabi-sabi. Covered in silver leaf, it has a simple beauty that is appealing. The white sand "Ginshatan" and "Kogetsudai" are also worth seeing.

Kiyomizu Temple
This temple is one of Kyoto's most famous temples, and the beautiful view from the stage is a highlight. Take city bus No. 100 or No. 17 from the Ginkakuji-michi bus stop and get off at the Gojozaka bus stop.
Stroll through the Kiyomizu area, Gion and Yasaka Shrine before heading to Villa Kyoto Saiin
